NEW YORK (FOX 5N NY) - The NYPD says a tip to the Crime Stoppers hotline lead to the arrest of a suspect in a sexual assault in Manhattan.
Gregory Anderson, 32, was arrested Wednesday for the sexual assault of a 36-year-old woman on East 94th St. and 2nd Ave. on Feb. 6, according to police.
Anderson, 32, is black, 5'7" tall and 145 lbs.
He had a prior arrest in 2014 for drinking in public.
According to police, Anderson grabbed his victim from behind and threw her to the ground as she crossed 2nd Ave. at about 5 a.m.
He forced her to walk down the block where he stole $40 from her before the assault, said police.
The victim ran to a nearby store.
Earlier this week, the NYPD had released a photo and the name of the suspect which lead to an arrest.
