Teen accused of attempting to rape friend's mom during sleepover

A Tennessee teen was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape his friend’s mother in the middle of the night during a sleepover.

Jordan Corter, 18, was invited over Sunday night at his friend’s house in Arlington, Tenn., according to Shelby County authorities. At around 2:30 a.m., he knocked on the mother’s bedroom door and forced his way in when she opened it.  He allegedly forced her onto the bed and shoved his hand into her pajamas.

The woman fought back and kneed him in the groin.  She grabbed a gun, pointed it at his head, and threatened to shoot if he didn't leave.

Corter was arrested at his home Tuesday afternoon.  He was released from the Shelby County Jail on $30,000 bail.

The sheriff’s office posted a comment on Facebook warning people to "know who you invite into your home."  That drew comments that the sheriff's office was "victim blaming".
