NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - New Rochelle Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Thursday morning the New Rochelle High School.
At approximately 8:50 a.m. they received a call from high school security that a stabbing had occurred in the school, and the suspect, a 15-year-old student was seen on video leaving the building shortly thereafter.
School staff issued a "hold in place" order after the incident.
Some parents rushed to pick up their children after a student stabbed a fellow student.
Officers and ambulance personnel found a 16-year-old student who had suffered a puncture-type wounds to his left torso. He was rushed to a hospital where he was undergoing treatment. The injuries do not appear to be life-threatening at this time.
This is the third attack in eight days in and near the school.
Several students attacked a 15-year-old student at a pizza shop on Wednesday.
Police said that on January 10, a girl stabbed a classmate, Valaree Schwab, 16, to death at a Dunkin' Donuts.
New Rochelle High School does not have metal detectors but officials said they have increased security since last week's fatal stabbing.
