StoryCorps now has an app to capture oral histories

Over the last 11 years, more than 100,000 ordinary Americans have shared an oral history with StoryCorps, a Brooklyn-based company. The accounts are often played on NPR.

Now thanks to a $1 million grant from the nonprofit TED, known for its TED talks videos, StoryCorps is going digital with an app. The uploaded accounts from the app are stored in the Library of Congress.

The app helps guide people through the 40-minute interviews with examples of questions to ask.

CEO Robin Sparkman talked about the app and the project's history.
