School officer bodyslams girl, 12, on concrete

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A school district in Texas has launched an investigation into a possible case of excessive force involving one of its police officers and a 12-year-old girl.

In video posted to YouTube Tuesday, the officer is seen throwing the sixth grader to the ground. She appears to hit the concrete, face first, and appears to be briefly unconscious.

A female student among those surrounding the officer and the girl is heard telling her to "chill" and then asking if she is ok after she is thrown to the ground.

The officer handcuffs the girl as she lies motionless, face down. He then helps her to her feet and the two walk away.

The officer, identified by local media as Joshua Kehm, was intervening between two females students who became verbally aggressive toward each other, said San Antonio Independent School District spokeswoman Leslie Price.

Kehm has been placed on indefinite paid leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

The girl's mother says her daughter does not remember the incident.
