Rescue dog dies of exhaustion after saving 7 lives

Dayko, a rescue dog that was responsible to helping resuce seven people from the ruins of a massive earthquake in Ecuador has reportedly died from exhaustion.

The 4-year-old Labrador suffered a heart attack, according to the local fire service in a Facebook post.

He was remembered for his good sense of smell and charisma.

In a post translated from Spanish they wrote:  "Thank you Dayko for your heroic efforts in Pedernales and in various emergencies where you were present."
