Rapper Nipsey Hussle killed in shooting outside LA shop, report says

Rapper Nipsey Hussle is dead after a shooting outside his shop in Los Angeles, according to reports.

The hip hop artist who was born and raised in the Crenshaw neighborhood of South Los Angeles was 33 years old.

Police told TMZ that three people in all were shot outside the store.

According to the outlet, Nipsey Hussle owns the store, which is called Marathon Clothing Company.

The father of two opened the shop back in 2017.

Nipsey Hussle reportedly had ties to the Crips gang and had just tweeted before the shooting, "Having strong enemies is a blessing."

The rapper broke on to the U.S. Billboard's Hot 100 when he was featured on fellow rapper YG's 2012 hit "Snitches Ain't" with Tyga and Snoop Dogg. Nipsey Hussle's debut studio album Victory Lap was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album in 2019. Cardi B ended up winning the Grammy Award for her album Invasion of Privacy.

Nipsey Hussle collaborated with other rappers throughout his career including Rick Ross, Slim Thug and 9th Wonder.
