A naked man suspected of stealing a truck in East Los Angeles was captured Friday by Los Angeles police after a short vehicle pursuit and a chase through an East Los Angeles neighborhood, police said.

The truck was reported stolen at 5:39 a.m. from 1800 Seigneur Ave. in East Los Angeles, LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera said.

The police pursuit started at 6:01 a.m. and moved from the San Bernardino (10) Freeway to the Hollywood Freeway and then onto streets in East Los Angeles, Herrera said. The vehicle pursuit ended at 6:10 when the naked man abandoned the truck in a cul de sac and then started running along the freeway, then into wooded areas.

He was finally nabbed by LAPD officers in a wooded area between East First Street and Gabriel Garcia Marquez in East Los Angeles, Herrera said.
