Pitbull puppy stolen off street

The NYPD has recovered a puppy stolen in the Bronx after the dog jumped out of its owner's stroller and arrested a woman in connection with the case.

The dog was riding in the bottom basket when it bolted at about 11:15 a.m. on May 6 in the area of Jerome Ave. and East 190th St.

The 42-year-old owner told police the dog jumped out but he hadn't noticed.

Police said a woman in a pink tracksuit was seen fleeing with the dog in a white BMW along southbound Jerome Ave.

Police arrested 20-year-old Julia Jonhope in connection with the case.
