Tuesday, October 3, 1995, 10 a.m. Pacific time, more than 100 million people tuned in to see the verdict in the O.J. Simpson trial. After 9 months of televised testimony, the jury came back with a not guilty verdict after less than a day of deliberation. Now two decades later, people I spoke to seem to remember the moment clear as day. I was somewhat surprised that everyone I spoke to was aware that O.J. is currently serving time in prison in connection with an unrelated case. 

Harvey Levin has become a household name as the face of celebrity news website and TV show TMZ. But many people first came to know him as a reporter for CBS News who brought the trial day-in, day-out to millions of people across the country. I spoke with him about the trial's enduring impact on society as a whole.
