New Jersey Christmas trees in demand

BELVIDERE, N.J. (AP) — It's time to start picking out a Christmas tree.

State Agriculture Secretary Douglas Fisher on Monday went to a farm in Warren County to promote Christmas trees grown in New Jersey.

The Agriculture Department says nearly 69,000 trees are cut in the state each year.

Fisher helped cut down a tree at Wyckoff's Christmas Tree Farm in Belvidere that will be donated to the Christmas Trees for New Jersey Military Families campaign. The program seeks to donate 100 trees to state National Guard members.
