Man threatened co-worker with ax over holiday gift, cops say
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A trash collector was jailed in upstate New York after he tried to take a cash gift using an axe from his co-worker, according to the New York State Police.
Sean S. Date, 54, of Peekskill, and his partner were given a $30 cash gift to split from a customer in Putnam Valley.
Date allegedly wanted the entire amount so he threatened his co-worker with an ax, according to police.
Date was arrested following the incident at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday. He was taken to Putnam County Jail following an arraignment.
His next court appearance is Dec. 19. It was unclear if he had a lawyer.
