Man arrested for attempting to kidnap 2 boys: Cops

The NYPD said the suspect in the attempted abductions of two, 10-year-old boys in Brooklyn was arrested.

Zhu Lin Shi, 68, was taken into custody on May 17.

On May 7, one of the boys was walking home from school at the corner of Fort Hamilton Parkway and 58 Street in Sunset Park when he was approached from behind by a man who asked him if he wanted ice cream.

When the boy refused, Shi grabbed his book bag and held him there, according to police. The boy attempted to bite the man. He let go and the boy ran off. He was not injured.

On May 9 at about 3 p.m., a 10-year-old boy in front of 5302 7 Avenue was approached by the suspect who grabbed his arm. The child tried to kick the man and the suspect let go.

Police had requested the public's help finding the man. They released a photo of him days earlier. It is unclear if the public appeal lead to the arrest.
