Mall dumps plan to charge to see Santa

A mall in southern New Jersey has dumped a fee to see Santa Clause after parents expressed outrage.

The Cherry Hill Mall's Adventure to Santa had been costing between $35 and $75 for a 15-17 minute experience and photos with Santa.

Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust, which manages the mall has decided to make it free and then charge for photo packages.

The display features characters from the Shrek movies as well as a '4D' movie of a sleigh ride, a concert performed by elves, and various games.

In a statement to Fox 5 News, the company says, "In the spirit of the holiday season, we want to keep things festive and bright. We have heard and value our loyal customers' feedback and as a result, have decided to no longer require a minimum photo package purchase to visit with Santa."
