NEW JERSEY (FOX 5 NEWS) - President Trump took a weekend break from his Mar-a-Lago resort and opted for the Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey, and not everyone in the area was happy about it.
He took meetings and chose the location because it is far less disruptive than New York City.
Speaking with locals in Bedminster, they said it has been anything, but quiet over the past few days.
It’s not every weekend that the President spends the weekend in Bedminster, New Jersey. Some locals were excited about it, while others, not so much.
“I don’t like having him here, I wish he was back in the White House,” said one local.
“Well, I’m happy he’s here. It hasn’t been too disruptive,” said another.
However, the hour drive from the city to Bedminster did not stop protestors- both anti-Trump and pro-Trump.
The division is even more evident in Washington, D.C. The Republicans are still beaming after passing the American Health Care Act from the House. Democrats are doing everything they can to keep it from passing the Senate.
The President did not hold any public appearances while he was in New Jersey, and is set to return to D.C. Sunday.
