NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - Expect to pay more to drive into New York City from New Jersey. A series of toll increases on Port Authority of NY and NJ Hudson River crossings that began in 2012 culminate in a fifth increase that took effect on Sunday.
The cash toll increases to $15 for cars and motorcycles during peak hours. A big truck will pay $126 or more to get into the city, depending on how many axles.
The rates increases affect the George Washington Bridge, Lincoln Tunnel, Holland Tunnel, Goethals Bridge, Outerbridge Crossing and the Bayonne Bridge.
There are discounts for using EZ Pass or using the crossings during off-peak hours.
