Harlem deer may be spared death

It doesn't get much cuter than a doe-eyed deer eating grass in, of all places, Harlem's Jackie Robinson Park.

Terrance first spotted the single antlered deer after school and took this video of him. Now comes word the deer will be put down

Wildlife officials captured the deer Thursday morning after he was seen eating grass in a near housing complex.

The deer has to be put down because state regulations prohibit relocating the deer unless it is for scientific purposes, according to the mayor's office.

However, the deer may have received a reprieve from the governor. Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office released a statement: "The City has now captured the deer, and Governor Cuomo has directed the DEC to offer assistance to the City to transport and find a new habitat for it immediately."

No one knows exactly what will happen to this little guy, but it appears he may live to see another Christmas.
