Hard cider from ugly apples

On a beautiful country road in upstate New York sits an apple orchard. Twin Star Orchards in New Paltz is the where Brooklyn Cider House products are made -- a place recognized for more than just their delicious beverages.

The slogan is "Ugly apples taste better." The catchy slogan has a deeper meaning because the orchard has reduced the use of pesticides, so the apples may have blemishes.

Coming up on their first anniversary, this cider house is taking the market by storm.

The cider is already found in a handful of stores and restaurants. The all-natural production approach is a first of its kind in the cider industry.

So do ugly apples really taste better? Naturally, I had to do my own taste test. Ugly apples do make for a delicious product.
