'God Save the Queen' played at Yankee Stadium ahead of game

Yankee Stadium played "God Save the Queen" in honor of the victims of the bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England. [NJ.com posted video.]

The video board displayed the message "OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS TO THE VICTIMS IN MANCHESTER."

"I think you always think about it," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said before the game. "I think our people have done a really good job doing everything they can to protect our fans and protect the players and everyone involved that's here in this building, you, me, but you're always worried. I mean, that's the world we live in. So you put your faith in the people that are taking care of us and you trust them."

A suicide bomber killed more than 20 people who were leaving the concert at Manchester Arena Monday night.

As always, the stadium also played "The Star-Spangled Banner" ahead of the game. The New York Yankees hosted the Kansas City Royals.
