Family of man shot by cop meets with NY attorney general
An off-duty NYPD officer shot and killed a man after being attacked during a road rage incident, according to police.
NEW YORK (AP) -- The family of a motorist who was shot and killed by an off-duty NYPD officer has met with state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.
The family of Delrawn Small met with Schneiderman on Friday at Scheiderman's Manhattan office.
Small's brother, Victor Dempsey, said afterward he was cautiously optimistic about Schneiderman's involvement as special prosecutor.
The attorney general said in a statement that he expressed his condolences and explained his role in investigating the shooting.
Small was killed July 4 after he thought he was cut off on a Brooklyn street by off-duty Officer Wayne Isaacs. After he walked up to Wayne's car at a stoplight, the officer shot while still sitting behind the wheel.
Initially, police said Small had punched Isaacs first. But a video has cast doubt on that account.
