New York is the foundation of fashion designer Elie Tahari's global brand, an empire that reportedly brings in around half a billion dollars in revenue annually. Today, Tahari is putting the finishing touches on the fashion presentation that will debut his Spring/Summer 2016 designs to the world.

Now in its 42nd year, the Tahari brand has certainly evolved, and New York has been the ultimate muse every step of the way. And the inspiration for this season's collection? "Futuristic nomad crossing the desert."  So naturally, this weekend's show will be set on faux sand dunes.

And when it's all over, Tahari says he hopes the show will leave a smile on our faces. But first, there's some more model casting to do.
