Bronx couple indicted in death of baby buried in woods

NEW YORK (AP) -- A Bronx couple has been indicted in the death of their 2-month-old son whose body was discovered in a wooded area in Dutchess County last year.

Prosecutors say 51-year-old Jose Feliciano pleaded not guilty to murder and manslaughter charges.

The mother, 31-year-old Danielle Whyte, pleaded not guilty to manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide charges after her arrest on Tuesday.

Both were also charged with concealment of a human corpse. Feliciano was arrested in December.

Authorities say that on or about Dec. 10, Feliciano applied blunt force trauma to little Mason Whyte's head. The parents later disposed of the body upstate.

The baby was discovered in Dover after police were alerted when the mother -- a patient at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in White Plains -- confided with hospital staff about her son's death.
