Bear seen walking on 2 legs in New Jersey
FOX 5 NEWS - An injured bear that walks on two legs has been seen in and around Oak Ridge, New Jersey, recently. Residents have nick-named the bear "Pedals," in reference to it being bipedal -- an animal that walks on two legs instead of four.
Local say the bear appears to be severely underweight and injured and therefore should be captured and brought to a sanctuary. A petition and Facebook page were created to help the bear, according to Inside Edition.
"He desperately needs help. He is missing a paw and the other is injured," according to the petition page. "He is being chased around Oak Ridge NJ by people wanting to get a glimpse of him."
A nonprofit group called Orphaned Wildlife Center in Otisville, New York, said it is willing to build a habitat for the bear and would take him in if it can raise the funds.
