Missing non-verbal teen found

A non-verbal 18-year-old with autism was found in Tribeca after going missing from his home in Queens on Monday.

A family is breathing a sigh of relief after reuniting with their missing teenager.

Police said 18-year-old Chad May was last seen Monday afternoon riding a white mountain bike in front of his home in Laurelton, Queens, but he didn't come home.

His panicked family reached out to police because the teen is autistic and non-verbal.

Fortunately, he was recognized late Wednesday afternoon at an ice cream shop in Tribeca, and he was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

It is currently unclear how he traveled from Queens to Manhattan.

He is in good health, and his family says they're simply anxious to bring him home.
