Users of Apple's app store described on social media Thursday that they were experiencing difficulties finding applications.

On its support page, Apple wrote: "Service is not working as expected for all users."

Various tech websites including Tech Crunch reported that keyword searches were not returning the appropriate list of apps, and weren't able to pull up many apps by name.

Also, URLs that begin with “appstore.com/” followed by the app name were not directing the user to the correct app.

The problem was first noticed as early as 5 am. and appeared to be resolved by the early afternoon.

iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch customers throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Hong Kong, and elsewhere were affected.
