Adorable lost dog brought home by her owner's scent
PAYTON, AZ - Cocoa the Chocolate Lab disappeared on a camping trip over 2 months ago, but her owners never gave up hope. They posted fliers all over the area, and eventually calls started coming in. Over nine weeks they made seven trips back to the campsite.
But what finally brought Cocoa home? Her owners' scent.
Volunteers from Central Arizona Animal Search and Rescue set a trap in the area she'd be been seen, with food and her owner’s clothing.
The volunteers were able to reunite Cocoa with her family right away because she had her collar on and she was microchipped. Anyone whose pet has gone missing knows that a $45 microchip is well worth it- especially if their collar comes off when they're on their own. We're so glad Cocoa's owners and the volunteers did everything right to bring this darling pup back home.
