A-Rod gets historic ball back

Two weeks after Alex Rodriguez smashed his 3000th hit, the Yankees designated hitter is finally going to receive the historic ball.

The fan who caught it, Zach Hample, originally said he wasn't going to give the ball back. But now, it looks like holding out worked in Hample's favor. The Bronx Bombers are going to donate $150,000 to Pitch In For Baseball, a charity which Hample has supported. The fan will also receive tickets and other perks and will give the ball to A-Rod before Friday's game.

A-Rod's comeback season after a year long suspension highlighted by another milestone-- also coming with a bit of drama, the slugger was supposed to get $6 million dollars for tying Willy Mays with 660 all time home-runs.

At first, theYankees didn't pay up.  But now the Team and the former MVP decided on a charitable donation totaling $3.5 million dollars instead of a bonus.
