A man is climbing the Himalayas to bring home his lost brother

In the fall of 1999, climber and cameraman David Bridges was killed in an avalanche on Xixiabangma, east of Mount Everest in the Himalayas. This spring, hikers finally found his body, frozen in ice. Now his brother Dan Bridges is training to bring David home.

Dan has climbed Mount Rainier and trekked the mountains of Nepal- but it's been 14 years since his last hike. He's getting back in shape to join the recovery team. He has his brother's ax- but he'll need more than that. People moved by his story are donating gear, piece by piece, to help Dan and his family give his brother a proper resting place. We wish him the best of luck on this incredible and meaningful journey!
