7 passengers kicked off flight allege discrimination

Seven black passengers aboard a Spirit Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Dallas were kicked off the plane Monday night following a dispute over an overbooked seat.

A flight attendant accused a male passenger of being disruptive after he reportedly refused to give up his seat.

Police were called and one couple was escorted off the flight. Later, five more passengers were asked to leave after allegedly questioning the flight attendants over why the couple had been kicked off.

Speaking to local media, two of the passengers said they were asked to leave because they are black.

“It was more than just us having a conversation,” said Alexandria Wright .  "Why is it that, what, six black people get kicked off the plane?”

Spirit Airlines has not yet responded to the incident.

All the passengers were reportedly re-booked by Spirit.
