2 injured after car hit by brick on Long Island parkway

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Police have launched an investigation after two people were injured when a brick was thrown through the windshield of a car on a Long Island parkway.

New York State Police say it happened just before 8 p.m. Saturday in Uniondale.

Investigators believe someone standing on a pedestrian overpass tossed a brick through the windshield of a BMW that was driving on the Meadowbrook State Parkway below.

Police say the 21-year-old driver was hit in the shoulder. His passenger, a 22-year-old woman, suffered an eye injury and bruising to her mouth. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police are continuing to investigate. No arrests have been made.
