1-month-old infant found dead in courtyard
NEW YORK (AP) — New York City police say a newborn baby boy was found dead with severe head trauma in the courtyard of an apartment building in Queens and may have fallen or been thrown out of a window.
Rizwan Ahmad, 1, of Queens was pronounced dead at the scene Friday morning.
The baby, who was wearing a onesie, was discovered on the ground. Police say he had severe injuries.
Police are investigating whether he fell, was tossed from a window, or was left there. It's also not clear whether he was alive in the courtyard before dying.
Police took several family members in for questioning.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
Police say no arrests have been made.
