Ydanis Rodriguez, Fernando Cabrera, Rafael Espinal, and Margaret Chin introduced bills that would allow the operation of e-bikes and e-scooters, establish an e-bike conversion program, and create an e-scooter share pilot program.

Gov. Phil Murphy unveiled a report from the audit of New Jersey Transit. The report describes it as plagued by top-heavy management, low morale, a lack of funding and little or no strategic planning. The Democrat made reforming NJ Transit one of his major priorities when he took office in January, calling the once-admired organization "a national disgrace."

Drivers in New Jersey are now paying more for gasoline. The gas tax rose Monday by 4.3 cents to 41.4 cents per gallon, an increase of more than 10 percent. The hike stems from a 2016 law to fund projects for bridges, roads and tunnels. It calls for a steady revenue stream to support the $2 billion a year fund for road and bridge work.

The Lincoln Tunnel has been an essential link between New York and New Jersey for nearly 85 years. It is a lifeline for thousands of commuters from home to work. And now, things are going to get much more complicated. A major rehabilitation project is happening at the Route 495 viaduct on the New Jersey side. The plan is to close two lanes.

A shared electric moped service is coming to Brooklyn. A company called Revel Transit has 68 electric mopeds now available in Bushwick, Greenpoint, and Williamsburg. After downloading the revel app, riders can rent one of the scooters for $4 for the first hour and 25 cents a minute after that.
