Rampaging elephant destroys dozens of vehicles

An elephant went on a rampage during a festival in southern India.  The animal attacked as many as 27 vehicles parked near a Temple in the state of Kerala.

The elephant was initially tethered to something but managed to break free and topple over parked cars, motorbikes and rickshaws.  No one was injured.

Hundreds of captive elephants are booked for fairs and festivals in iIndia nad accidents are not uncommon.  An elephant went on a stampede in West Bengal in February, damaging around a hundred buildings.
