NY state trooper accused of online harassment

A New York state trooper is accused of using a false identity online to harass a Long Island resident.

Authorities charged Trooper Jennifer Daignault, 32, with two counts of coercion, one a felony and the other a misdemeanor.

She was arraigned Friday in Nassau County Court and released on her own recognizance.

Court records show the alleged harassment happened in June. State Police said that Daignault's alleged actions happened while she was off-duty.

The Oneida County resident graduated from the state police academy in 2016.
