Monthly salon memberships in New York City

NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - Forget about just having a gym membership, you can now have memberships to pamper yourself. More spas and salons are now offering monthly deals.  One such place is Blushington, a makeup and beauty lounge. 

There are two Blushington locations in New York City, one in Midtown West and the other one on the Upper East Side. The membership costs $250 a month, which comes out to be $8 a day. Clients get makeup application, brow maintenance, full lashes and more. Clients can go in 5 days a week, 30 days a month, as many times as they want.

From makeup to waxing, Tribeca's Wax Club offers unlimited waxing full body for $89 a month (plus taxes and tips). The Wax Club opened 5 months ago. Co-founder Marcy Kornblum says she knew right away offering her clients a monthly was the way to go. The club also offers a la carte services.

Bliss Spa has a membership program at its 12 city.  The $99 a month fee includes a facial or a massage plus other discounts and specials.

The memberships are a way for salons to build a loyal customer base.  They are also a way to encourage clients to try new products that they might not have sought in the past.
