Cops build tree house for fallen officer's daughter
INSIDE EDITION - More than two dozen police officers joined forces to build a tree house for a fallen officer’s daughter in New York this week.
New York State Trooper Joel Davis, 36, was shot and killed in the line of duty on July 9, days before his youngest daughter Jaila’s 13th birthday.
Before his death, Davis had been building the tree house for his daughter.
In honor of Davis, 35 officers from the New York State Police, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and the Watertown City Police all banded together to complete the tree house.
“They completed the project in just one day,” Trooper Jack Keller told InsideEdition.com.
Many of the officers were Davis' friends.
The wooden tree house was built in the family’s backyard and has a ladder, window, door and porch.
An American flag also hangs from the structure.
