Boys rob ice cream truck at gunpoint

An ice cream truck stop ended with an armed robbery.

The 30-year-old vendor claims a group of 5-6 boys robbed him during a stop in the southeastern Virginia city of Newport News.  It happened about 5 p.m. on Sunday evening.

One of the boys allegedly asked for ice cream before pointing a gun at the driver and demanding money.  The driver handed over cash and then the group ran away.  Police say there are no injuries.  The investigation is continuing.
