Expert warns Ebola outbreak could spiral without faster global response
Jeremy Konyndyk, president of Refugees International and a former U.S. government disaster response official, says the current Ebola outbreak in Central Africa could grow much worse without a faster international response. He warns that reported case counts may be an undercount and says the outbreak is showing patterns similar to the 2014 Ebola crisis in West Africa. Konyndyk also explains why he is not overly concerned about the World Cup becoming an Ebola-spreading event, saying the virus does not spread like COVID and is mainly transmitted through contact with bodily fluids from infected people.
