Senate passes legislation to end government shutdown, bill heads to the House
Lawmakers have agreed upon a stopgap bill that will reopen the government after a Monday evening vote. But the record-long government shutdown is not quite over. The House must now vote on the legislation before it can head to President Donald Trump’s desk for a signature. The final Senate vote was 60-40.
