FOX 5 NY’s Dan Bowens takes a look at some of the more notable crimes across the New York City area this week, including body-cam video of Luigi Mangione before his arrest, the arrest of four men in connection with a mass shooting, and a case in which a man once hailed as a hero is now charged with murder.

Mangione hearing: Officers defend backpack search

Day 7 of pretrial hearings for accused CEO killer Luigi Mangione brought new testimony from Altoona police supervisors, who described why they searched Mangione’s backpack without a warrant the day he was arrested at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s. With 11 witnesses already called, the hearing is expected to stretch into a third week. FOX 5 NY’s Jessica Formoso reports.
