Worker shoots, kills 3 at UPS facility in San Francisco

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A UPS worker opened fire inside a package delivery facility in San Francisco and killed three other employees Wednesday, a UPS spokesman and police said.

The gunman then shot himself in the head when officers found him, police said. He died.

Two others were wounded in the gunfire. Police announced via Twitter that the incident was contained and the building in the Potrero Hill neighborhood, about 2-1/2 miles from downtown San Francisco, was secure.

UPS spokesman Steve Gaut told the AP that the killer opened fire before the drivers left for their daily deliveries.

News helicopter footage over the scene shows people walking out of a building in lines wearing what appear to be UPS uniforms.

Police have not determined a motive, the AP reported. Cops found two guns at the scene.

"The company is saddened and deeply concerned about affected employees, family members and the community we share," UPS said in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with all those touched by this incident. To assist our employees during this time, UPS has made professional counseling available."

The SFPD is asking the public to shelter in place.
