One of President-elect Donald Trump’s top aides has warned Trump that some of his supporters would not be too happy if he picked 2012 Presidential nominee Mitt Romney as his secretary of state, noting that supporters would feel “betrayed.”

Many seemed to want a put a stop to Romney being a choice after Kellyanne Conway commented on her opposition to the former Massachusetts governor.

“People feel betrayed to think that Gov. Romney, who went out of his way to question the character and the intellect and the integrity of Donald Trump, now our president-elect, would be given the most significant cabinet post of all,” Conway said during an interview on Sunday.

Prior to the election, Mitt Romney voiced his deep resistance against Trump, challenging Trump’s fitness to become president as well as his credentials when it comes to foreign policy.

Romney said Trump’s nomination was “alarming the allies and fueling the enmity of our enemies.”

Speculation circulated stating that Trump has just been toying around with Romney in hopes to humiliate him, but nothing has been proven true.

Former New York mayor, Rudy Giuliani, is also speculated to receive the spot for the Secretary of State position.

So far, Trump has already appointed a members of his team, including  finance attorney Don McGahn as White House counsel,  KT McFarland as deputy national security adviser, and Reince Priebus as White House Chief of Staff.
