Titi monkeys debut at Prospect Park Zoo

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - Two Bolivian titi monkeys recently made their public debut at the Prospect Park Zoo in Brooklyn, according to the Wildlife Conservation Society.

The two new titi monkeys, a male and a female, are indigenous to South America. They share a habitat in the Hall of Animals Building with saki monkeys. WCS says titis and sakis are found in Colombia, Peru, and Bolivia, and titis also are found in Paraguay.

Titi monkeys live in trees and feed on fruits, leaves, and insects.

The Wildlife Conservation Society's mission is to save "wildlife and wild places worldwide through science, conservation action, education, and inspiring people to value nature," according to its website. In addition to the Prospect Park Zoo, WCS runs the New York Aquarium, the Queens Zoo, the Central Park Zoo, and the Bronx Zoo, its flagship property.
