A seventh U.S. soldier who died from injuries sustained while he was supporting Operation Epic Fury in Saudi Arabia last week has been identified, the Department of War announced Monday.

Sgt. Benjamin N. Pennington, 26, of Glendale, Ky., died of his wounds on Sunday after he was injured during "an enemy attack" on March 1 at Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, the department said.

He was assigned to 1st Space Battalion, 1st Space Brigade, Fort Carson, Colo.

The department said the incident is under investigation.
 

Bodies of six soldiers killed in March 1 drone attack returned home

The bodies of six U.S. Army Reserve soldiers who were killed in Kuwait during a drone attack on March 1 were returned home Saturday. 

Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor, Capt. Cody Khork, Sgt. Declan Coady, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert Marzan, Maj. Jeffrey O'Brien and Sgt. 1st Class Noah Tietjens were all killed in a drone strike on a command center in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, one day after the U.S. and Israel launched Operation Epic Fury.

Eight service members fighting for their lives

A senior U.S. official said another eight "seriously" injured service members are still fighting for their lives, Fox News’ Jennifer Griffin reports.

All the injuries occurred in the first weekend of Operation Epic Fury and the first wave of counterstrikes by the Iranians between Feb. 28 and March 1.

There have been no deaths from attacks or serious injuries since that first weekend.
