QUEENS - The NYPD is searching for the man they said is wanted for more than half a dozen thefts near Rockaway Beach over the last two months, and is asking for the public's help.
What we know:
On Saturday, officers shared photos of their suspect wanted for the crimes, which happened within blocks of the beach between July 2 and Aug. 16.

In each case, police said the suspect took items that were unattended at the beach, including things like phones, backpacks, wallets and credit cards.
The most recent theft happened on Sunday, Aug. 16, just after 10 a.m., near Beach 67 Street and Ocean Avenue North. That's when police said the suspect broke into a man's car and stole his sunglasses, wallet and credit cards.

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in tracking down two armed suspects involved in a brazen string of robberies across Queens.

The robberies happened:
- 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, near Beach 67 Street and Boardwalk
- 9 a.m. on Friday, July 3, near Beach 67 Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard
- 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, near Beach 62 Street and Beach Front Road
- 1 p.m. on Friday, July 24, near 8600 Shore Front Parkway
- 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, near Beach 94 Street and Shore Front Parkway
- 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, near Beach 67 Street and Ocean Avenue North.
