Harvey Weinstein to face arrest

Harvey Weinstein has arrived at a New York police station to surrender in sexual misconduct investigation. .

Investigators are set to arrest the disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein in connection with allegations that he sexually assaulted several women, according to at least three reports.

The Daily News reported that the charges against Weinstein based on the probe by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office and the NYPD.

In recent months, numerous women have come forward with accounts of how Weinstein sexual harassed and assaulted them.

The Italian actress Asia Argento, 42, has alleged that Weinstein raped her when she was 21.

The American actress Rose McGowan, 44, has said he raped her when she was 23.

The American actress Paz de la Huerta, 33, has accused Weinstein of raping her at her apartment in Manhattan in 2010. The New York Post/Page Six reported that the charges will likely be related to her allegations.

Weinstein's lawyer wrote in a court filing on May 3 that federal prosecutors in New York also have a criminal investigation into his client's behavior. It is not clear yet if Weinstein will also face federal charges.

"I am trying my very best to persuade both the federal and state prosecutors that he should not be arrested and or indicted, because he did not knowingly violate the law," attorney Benjamin Brafman wrote in the court filing.

Weinstein has denied forcing himself on women. His lawyer has called the allegations "entirely without merit."
