The CPSC noted in a release that the recall covers MaxKare Electric Blankets featuring six heat settings and a nine-hour auto shut-off. The blankets were sold in three sizes—twin (62"x84"), full (72"x84"), and queen (84"x90")—and in brown and gray colors, and the items are machine washable.

These products were manufactured by Shenzhen Yumo Commerce and Trade Corporation of China and sold through Walmart.com between June 2021 and November 2024 for between $27 to $80.  Consumers can find the brand name MaxKare and model number on a tag sewn onto the blanket.

If I have the recalled blanket, what should I do?

What you can do:

Consumers that have a blanket should stop using the product and call Yumo for instructions on how to properly get rid of the blankets. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, owners of the blankets will be asked to upload a photo of the blanket to yumoofficial@126.com and confirm disposal in order to get a full refund.
