Driver in deadly multi-car crash was revived with Narcan: Report

NEW JERSEY (FOX 5 NY) - The man who triggered a multi-vehicle crash that killed three people in Wayne, New Jersey faces numerous criminal and drug charges.

Jason Vanderee, 29, of Glenwood, was driving his Honda Pilot at an excessive speed when it veered into a Delta gas station on Route 23 in Wayne striking a vehicle at the pump and the attendant, said the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.

Vadaree was reportedly passed out when the deadly crash occurred at about 8:46 a.m. Tuesday

He was reportedy revived with Narcan at the scene. Narcan is used for the complete or partial reversal of opioid overdose.

Jon Warbeck, 50, of Fair Lawn and his 17-year-old son were killed.

Lovedeep Fatra of Pequannock, a gas station attendant, also was killed.

The occupants of a Ford Transit Van and Nissan Rogue suffered minor injuries.

Vandaree was charged with three counts each of aggravated manslaughter and death by auto while intoxicated. He also faces drug charges.

He was scheduled for an initial court appearance Wednesday. It wasn't immediately known if he had retained an attorney.

Video from the scene shows a severely damaged car near a gas pump.

Another vehicle could be seen on the grassy area between the gas station and a nearby Mazda dealership. A pole appears to have been knocked down.

Southbound Route 23 was down to one lane as police remained on the scene hours later with the area closed off to traffic.
