According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, this recall possibly affects 250,651 vehicles, and it's because some side curtain airbags may not hold enough pressure during deployment to limit the risk for passengers during specific types of crashes. The agency also told the Associated Press that this problem is due to improperly sealed seams.

Are repairs available for the recalled minivans?

What you can do:

Owners of these minivans can take them to a local dealership where the staff will inspect and replace the side curtain airbags, if needed, for free.

The Associated Press noted that Chrysler's parent company shared that it wasn’t aware of any related injuries or accidents, but the company is encouraging consumers to follow the instructions in their recall notices.
