Tropical Storm Isaias track: Will the NYC area see any weekend remnants?
Tropical Storm Isaias has formed in the southern Gulf and is forecast to rapidly intensify into a Category 2 hurricane and charge toward the northern Gulf Coast later this week. Meanwhile, the NYC area, including parts of NJ, could see remnants this weekend. FOX 5 NY's Mike Woods joins Newsroom Live with Dan Bowens with the latest forecast.
"It's more like tropically-fed showers, so it's more like regular showers coming in that have a lot of tropical moisture, and sometimes they have the potential to give us some pretty heavy downpours," FOX 5 NY's Mike Woods said.
Woods said some flooding is even possible.
What we don't know:
Some forecast models show Isaias weakening at landfall, while others show the storm strengthening as strong winds high in the atmosphere interact with it from the north.
